Walk into My Future

a program of Tri-College University

Walk into My Future is a one-day, hands-on learning experience for up to 1500 Kindergarten to 5th graders from the YMCA and Boys and Girls Clubs. Kids rotate every 10 minutes between the 30-50 booths, just the right amount of time for this age group. Booths are provided by Concordia, M State, MSUM, and NDSU, with a few additional booths from select organizations or businesses.

The program rotates between the colleges with the host campus setting the date that works best for their campus. Tri-College University assists with organization and fundraising.

Walk into My Future has been held at NDSU (2018), M State (2019), and following a COVID break, the program resumed at MSUM (2023). Concordia College is scheduled to host in 2024.

Goals of "Walk into My Future"

For the Kids

Find out that careers and colleges are COOOOL.
See and experience a college campus. Understand where college students study and learn. See classrooms, dorms, a dining center, etc.
Have a great adventure and leave with positive feelings about learning.

For the Colleges

Making sure that youth have the chance to see and experience the colleges is just one way of giving back to the community.
Role modeling the value we place on higher education and the opportunity to influence the youth in our community, Walk into My Future puts words into action.

Donations for Ongoing Program Support

The Walk into My Future program rotates between campuses so it doesn't create a financial or workload burden. While the colleges provide staff and resources, donations are needed to defray costs that cannot be absorbed by the colleges. This makes is feasible for all campuses to participate, and helps ensure the stability of the Walk into My Future program.
