The Women in Action conference, is held during the spring semester of each year, and is a collaboration of the three Women Studies departments of the Tri-College University partnering schools. The conference focuses on local feminist action related to topics of interest to college-age women. Students meet weekly to plan the event and prepare all aspects of the conference including fundraising, publicity, and contacting potential speakers and panelists. The location of the conference rotates between the partnering TCU campuses. Students are expected to participate in the planning, implementation and final review meetings of the conference. Course participants gain conference planning and leadership skills, work with students from the Tri-College, and learn about the topics on which the conference focuses.
